NetSuite 2026.2 Projects, Finance & Accounting Release Highlights

NetSuite’s 2026.2 release delivers significant enhancements across financial close, reporting, banking,  tax management, and fixed asset accounting. These updates are designed to help finance teams  improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and increase visibility into critical financial processes.

Smarter Financial Close Management

The enhanced Intelligent Close Manager now allows organizations to create and track custom close  tasks alongside system-generated activities, providing greater flexibility in managing close processes.  New narrative insights capabilities offer summaries of the close progress and highlight areas requiring attention. Additionally, finance teams can now incorporate Intercompany Eliminations directly into the close workflow.

Preparing for IFRS 18 Reporting

To support upcoming global reporting requirements, NetSuite introduces a new IFRS 18 Income  Statement Layout. Effective for reporting periods beginning January 1, 2027, the framework  organizes income statement data into key categories including Operating, Investing, Financing,  Income Taxes, and Discontinued Operations. The layout is fully customizable. Your organization  determines the appropriate classification of its accounts and configures the layout to reflect its reporting  policy.

New SuiteTax Hub

NetSuite has launched the SuiteTax Hub, a centralized resource center that provides guidance,  tools, and information for organizations preparing to migrate from Legacy Tax to SuiteTax. The hub  is available immediately to Legacy Tax customers without additional setup.

Banking and Reconciliation Improvements

Several new banking enhancements help automate reconciliation activities and improve audit  visibility:

  • Create customer and vendor payments directly from the bank matching workflow. • Automatically accept and submit eligible bank and credit card transaction matches generated  by reconciliation rules.
  • Simplified review of grouped transactions through consolidated match displays. • Enhanced audit trails with System Notes capturing matching and reconciliation activities.
  • Improved accountability through new “Matched By” and “Submitted By” tracking fields that  identify whether actions were performed by users or automated processes.

These updates reduce manual effort, accelerate reconciliation cycles, and strengthen financial  controls.

Fixed Asset Management Enhancements

Organizations using NetSuite’s Fixed Asset Management (FAM) module will benefit from new  diagnostic capabilities that identify duplicate or stale depreciation history records before impacting processing. In addition, asset reset functionality has been optimized to improve performance and  reliability for companies with large, fixed asset populations, reducing the risk of processing delays  and data inconsistencies.

New Project Health Indicators in NetSuite 2026.2

NetSuite 2026.2 introduces five new Project Health Indicators designed to give project managers  greater visibility into project performance, resource utilization, profitability, and operational risk.  These indicators are automatically evaluated each day at midnight, helping organizations proactively  identify potential issues before they impact project outcomes. For some of these enhancements to  be available, the Project Management feature must be enabled, and some indicators may require  additional NetSuite features to be activated.

Key Enhancements

Planned vs. Actual Time Overrun This indicator highlights situations where the actual time logged  by resources exceeds the planned time allocated for the same task, resource, and day. It enables  project managers to quickly identify scope creep, productivity concerns, or inaccurate project  estimates.

Overdue Tasks Provides visibility into project tasks that remain incomplete after their scheduled end  date. This helps teams monitor schedule adherence and address project delays before they affect  downstream activities.

Project Resource Coverage for Remaining Work Evaluates whether assigned resources have  sufficient available capacity to complete the remaining planned work before task deadlines. The

calculation considers existing project assignments as well as approved time off, helping managers  identify potential resource shortages early.

Project Margin Indicator (Cost vs. Revenue) Measures project profitability by comparing total  recognized project revenue against total project costs. This indicator helps organizations monitor  financial performance and identify projects that may be at risk of reduced margins.

Unbilled Approved Charges Identifies approved charges that have not yet been billed, helping  organizations improve billing efficiency, accelerate revenue recognition, and reduce the risk of  missed billable expenses
