The NetSuite 2026.2 release introduces several significant enhancements designed to improve manufacturing planning, performance, and cost management.
A new Rough-Cut Capacity Planning report provides manufacturers with greater visibility into available and required capacity across work centers. Using planned production time from work orders and planned work orders, the report helps identify potential capacity overloads or underutilization. Users can analyze capacity by subsidiary, location, work center, assembly item, date range, and other planning criteria, with results available in daily, weekly, or monthly views. The report also offers detailed utilization of metrics for both machine and labor resources and includes transaction-level details for deeper analysis. New work center capacity fields support accurate capacity calculations, and planned work orders generated through Supply Planning can be included when configured appropriately.
NetSuite 2026.2 introduces a new preference that allows organizations to exclude zero-quantity component lines from selected manufacturing transactions. By reducing unnecessary transaction lines, this enhancement improves transaction processing and costing performance. The preference can be applied to Assembly Builds, Assembly Unbuilds, Work Order Issues, and Work Order Completions when the Assemblies feature is enabled. Existing transactions are not affected.
For organizations using Advanced Bill of Materials, assembly components will no longer be stored on hidden transaction lines across various sales and revenue-related transactions, including Sales Orders, Invoices, Credit Memos, Opportunities, Estimates, and Cash Sales. This update simplifies transaction storage while maintaining system functionality and efficiency.
A new cost management enhancement enables users to bulk update manufacturing charge costs on production transactions, including routing operation charges. Costs can be refreshed using either the current purchase price from the item record or a user-defined custom cost, helping ensure accurate production costing. This capability supports Service, Non-Inventory, and Other Charge items with
Purchase or Resale subtypes. To utilize this feature, administrators must enable the new Allow Bulk Update Costs for Production Charges preference.
