Your NetSuite Next readiness guide

The arrival of NetSuite Next is about more than turning on new AI functionality. It’s also an opportunity to make sure your NetSuite environment has the overall data readiness to take advantage of what’s coming.

As NetSuite 2026.2 reaches customer accounts and NetSuite Next becomes available in your instance, now is a good time for administrators, CFOs, and all other NetSuite users to review the health of their current environment, before introducing a completely new experience to the team.

A few areas deserve particular attention:

  • Start with the 2026.2 release. Review the features, changes, and notices included in your upgrade and identify anything that could affect your current processes, integrations, or customizations. Questions on anything included? Contact your Meridian Lead to clarify.
  • Use your preview environment. Rather than waiting until NetSuite Next is live for your users, take advantage of the opportunity to see how your existing roles, workflows, records, reports, and customizations behave in the new experience. Being proactive will always pay off in the long run.
  • Review custom scripts and integrations. Years of NetSuite use can leave behind scripts, integrations, and customizations that are outdated, redundant, or poorly documented. Understanding that technical footprint now can help identify potential risks and cleanup opportunities before broader adoption.
  • Think about access by role. Not every user needs to move at the same time. Finance, operations, executives, and administrators may interact with NetSuite differently. Identifying the right users and processes for an initial rollout can make adoption more manageable.
  • Clean up before you add more capability. AI can make information easier to access, but it does not replace a good system of governance. Permissions, saved searches, workflows, reporting structures, and underlying data should still reflect how your business operates today.

The goal isn’t to rebuild your NetSuite environment for NetSuite Next. It’s to understand what you already have, address areas that may create unnecessary friction, and establish a cleaner foundation for your team to take advantage of what’s becoming available.
